VOR Presents… The Ten Most Healthy Foods

British scientists compiled a list of the ten healthiest foods that you can eat.

First place in the list goes to the tomato. This vegetable is extremely healthy because it has active antioxidants such as lycopene and vitamin C, which helps to maintain cardiac health and promotes proper functioning of the circulatory system. If you include tomatoes in your diet, it can help prevent the development of some forms of cancer.

Second place went to oatmeal porridge. Oatmeal is rich in vitamin E; it contains much protein and fibre. The latter is necessary if you wish normal bodily functions.

Third place went to Kiwi fruit, for it contains vitamins A, C, and E, and has essential fatty acids.

Black grapes won fourth place thanks to their antioxidant flavonoids. They are remarkably able to help prevent the formation of certain cancers. Regular consumption of black grapes also helps maintain cardiac health.

Oranges took fifth-place honours as they contain large amounts of vitamin C and pectin. Recently, scientists discovered that they reduce harmful cholesterol levels, which indicates that regular consumption of oranges could help prevent cardiovascular disease.

Sixth place on the list of healthy foods went to broccoli, which has a high concentration of antioxidants.

Avocado follows, taking seventh place, as it contains an abundance of fatty acids, which are necessary to stabilise blood sugar levels.

In eighth place, we find watercress, which is rich in iodine, iron, and vitamins A and C.

Taking ninth place is garlic, which stabilises blood pressure.

******

Olive oil closes out the list of the top ten healthiest foods, as its rich in antioxidants.
