If you want to see where the “Evil Empire” is today, ask the US Senators who voted for the recent Defence bill that authorised indefinite preventive detention. That vote proves that the USA has NO right to point fingers at anyone else. America’s no different from any other country… good and bad conmingled… it’s neither totally white or totally black. However… “freedom ain’t free”… and one of the costs involved is taking the effort to know the Truth. If the Rightwingers lied to you outrageously about the Soviet Union, if they lied to you about the calamitous effects of privatisation and deregulation on ordinary people, why should you believe them in anything else? Why did people believe Slobberin’ Ronnie? Just a thought…
