14 October 2013. The Revival Will Not be Televised… The Revival will be Live… It Only Takes a Moment, Dear

A priest baptises a child at Novopyatigorsk Lake near the southern town of Pyatigorsk. A parish baptised about 80 people in a mass baptismal ceremony. I do daresay that the little one doesn’t appear very happy about it all… the revival will not be televised, the revival will be live (thank you, Gil Scott-Heron).

14 October 2013. Red October Still Lives… Pioneer Ceremony on Red Square

A boy yawns as he and other children attend a ceremonial initiation into the Union of Pioneer Organisations-Federation of Children’s Organisations (SPO-FDO), the successor to the V I Lenin all-Union Pioneer Organisation, an organisation created in the USSR for children 10-14 years old. The event took place on Red Square in Moscow on 19 May 2013, when the Pioneers celebrated their anniversary. Some 3,000 pioneers took part in the ceremony. As you can see, being “Red” isn’t dead. The Western news media was nowhere in evidence…
