An island in the city of St Petersburg, bordered by the Bolshaya Neva and Malaya Neva Rivers (in the delta of the Neva River) in the south and northeast, and by the Gulf of Finland in the west. The Smolenka River separates Vasilyevsky Island from Dekabristov Island. Together they form Vasileostrovsky Raion, an administrative division of the Federal City of St Petersburg. Situated just across the river from the Winter Palace, it constitutes a large portion of the city’s historic centre. Two of the most famous St Petersburg bridges, Palace Bridge and Blagoveshchensky Bridge, connect it with the mainland to the south. The Exchange Bridge and Tuchkov Bridge across the Malaya Neva connect it with Petrogradsky Island.

15 November 2016. Echoes of the Past: Closing Ceremony, 22nd Summer Olympics (4 August 1980, Moscow USSR)

____________________________________

The USA tried to ruin the 1980 Olympics… it boycotted them and pressured other countries to do so. The Anglos are sanctimonious and smarmy. I hate their pretence and their arrogant juvenile ways. They point the finger of censoriousness at others… whilst their own hands drip with the blood and gore of those they stepped on to steal their riches. One of the worst of the lot was Hillary Clinton… she threw tantrums… when she did so, she had countries bombed and people murdered. I’m glad that she lost the election. I’m not so sure about Trump either… “Make America great again”… I think not… The Trail of Tears, slavery, Wounded Knee, the Bonus Marchers, the “Gilded Age”, and Hiroshima, to name just a few. America isn’t unique, exceptional, or indispensable. It’s just a normal country like any other… which is why they should’ve taken part in the Moscow Olympics. However, the Anglos had to posture and preen themselves. They did it again this year… when will the foolishness end?
