You have a choice… you can honour and respect the heroic fighters of the Second World War (which includes all the brave American fighters, too), or, you can follow the money-grubbing cowards of the Far Right. Rush Limbaugh refused to serve… Richard Cheney refused to serve… Bill O’Reilly refused to serve… Sean Hannity refused to serve… Dropout Scott Walker refused to serve… need I go on? Trust me, virtually ALL of the rightwing loudmouths refused to serve. Ponder that… as Richard Cheney frankly said, “I had better things to do”.

Don’t tell me how “moral” and “upright” the rightwing is… in the main, they’re cowards who refused their country’s call so that they could pursue their own selfish personal ambitions. They’re yellow-bellied godless money-grubbers, worthy of nothing but the contempt of decent people. ONE of the VOV heroes pictured above outweighs all of the Far Right loonies put together. I know where I stand… what about you?

8 July 2011. What the American Corporate Media Calls “Evil” and “Backward”… the Faces of FREE Byelorussia

THIS is the face of what crackbrained rightwingers call the “last Soviet dictatorship in Europe”. This is “nasty”, in their lights. I’d say that they were people with a wicked and greedy agenda… they want to rip down the Byelorussian welfare state, which provides its people with a modest (but dignified) standard of living, and replace it with an American-style dog-eat-dog evil money-centred kleptocracy, where the people are raped for the benefit of the “five percenters” at the top of the pyramid. Don’t forget, the five percenters gave themselves a 29 percent raise in the USA last year, whilst shedding workers and giving the ones left a measly 2 percent increase (after a 10 percent increase in productivity). That doesn’t happen in Byelorussia… there’s not as much, to be sure, but it’s shared more equally, and there’s a smaller gap between the “haves” and “have-nots” as compared to the USA. A young Byelorussian girl recently visited the USA… some Americans tried to get her to stay here, but she said, “No, we have all that we need at home in Byelorussia. That’s where I belong”.

I have a special aside for po-nashemu people… those of us of Russian, Ukrainian, Byelorussian, Carpatho-Russian, or Slovak background. The rightwing of the US Republican Party HATES Byelorussia, and wants to replace its current government with a pro-oligarch junta. Don’t buy into it… if it were up to the Koch brothers, Rush Limboob, or the Fox News cabal, Minsk would’ve been a smoking bomb crater by now. Don’t forget what our forebears went through at the hands of the American oligarchs… don’t forget Black Lick or Homestead… the mines and the mills… the men who went to work and didn’t return because they died (the greedy bosses cut corners on safety to earn an extra buck). The American oligarchs haven’t changed… why are you supporting them? Look at the pictures above… these people are our blood kin. They look like our babas and dedes, our kids and our spouses, our brothers and sisters… they look like everybody in the old po-nashemu neighbourhood, don’t they? Why not stand WITH them, and not against them? At the least, don’t vote Republican…

They all have faces… they all have names. If you remember that, you’ll not go wrong. Do as you would be done by…
