THIS is the face of the famine in Somalia… it’s worse than it should be because Western countries are wasting money on jingoistic wars in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Yemen. These wars have NOTHING to do with self-defence… the oligarchs are attempting to create an American World Hegemony that can never be (it’s beyond the reach of any one country, INCLUDING the USA). The “conservative” Neoliberals have BILLIONS for bombs… they’re miserly with aid for the starving. Remember these images whenever you hear Rush, Sarah, Rick, Michelle, Tim, Paul, or Dropout Scott. THIS is what they wink at! Note well that they have billions for bombs whilst they scream that government spending must be cut… hypocritical bastards. Also note that they’re buying said bombs on tick because they don’t want to tax the Five Percenters… YOU have to pay for their feckless consumption, dontcha know!

Ike was right… he warned us about the Military-Industrial Complex fifty years ago. It’s NEVER too late to make a good start…

21 July 2011. Your Tax Dollars at Work… Here’s What Defeat Looks Like…

This is the shattered window of an American military vehicle after an IED went off near it. It’s a sad metaphor for the failed war in Afghanistan. It never was winnable, for it was nothing but a blind stab at a mostly non-existent enemy… al Qaeda and the Taliban were creatures of the American special services that turned feral in the ’90s. There was never a conspiracy… there never was a wide-ranging terrorist network. There WAS an internet will o’ the wisp that inspired individual nutters, but that’s not a “conspiracy” in anyone’s book. In general, I don’t believe in conspiracy theories, and, unless my guess is very wrong, you hold the same disdain towards them as I do. Real motives DO lie behind most uses of force. In the case of Iraq, its oilfields were just too big a temptation for GWB and his transnational buddies. In the case of Afghanistan, there’s supposedly mineral riches in its mountains. There… no need to talk of an al Qaeda/Taliban conspiracy, or bellicose talk about Islamocist terrorists (that there’s Muslim terrorists, that’s for certain, but they’re few, fragmented, and without focus). I feel sorriest for the poor bloody sods in the middle of all this… the soldiers, who’re just following their orders. The New GOP has BILLIONS for this war and for the perpetual stationing of troops in Iraq, besides rattling its sabre in Yemen and Libya. If this doesn’t tell that Ike was right about the Military-Industrial Complex, nothing will…

15 July 2011. A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words… Yemen is STILL Boiling Over…

As you can see from the above image taken from a Russian website, Yemen is far from placid. By the way, don’t listen to New GOP/Fox News propaganda that these people are “al Qaeda” terrorists. No… they’re patriots who want the American hegemonists out of their country. In any case, whenever you hear rightwing lies about al Qaeda, remember that the USA founded, funded, and armed them… and, then, supported their campaign against the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan after the Sovs left. I’ve heard that “payback’s a mutha”… but this is “payback” in spades.

Let’s go home and attend to our own many problems. In any case, there’s no more money left. George W Bush blew it all on two unwinnable wars. Remember, the old military maxim, “If you try to defend everything, you defend nothing”. If that’s so, it’s time to contract our commitments to our actual no-retreat lines (the Central Pacific (AUSNZ-Guam–Aleutians) and the GIUK Gap) and rebuild our economy after the ravages caused by thirty years of Neoliberal Laissez-faire rapine (as it’s easier to destroy than to build, that’s the work of at least two generations). Then, maybe, the world would see us for what we truly are…

This is an image of the pro-freedom anti-government fighters in Yemen. The USA is bombing them under the cover of “attacking al Qaeda“, for the present régime favours the USA. The extreme rightwing uses al Qaeda as a phantasmal boogey-man “scratching at the window” in order to justify and excuse all sorts of nasty and unseemly doings in foreign parts. Don’t forget… Osama bin Laden was a creature of the CIA… his “godfather” was Zbigniew Brzeziński (whose father was the Polish Ambassador to Canada for the OZN Fascist junta of the “colonels” in the ’30s)… the USA armed and funded the Talibs and al Qaeda in the ’80s. Puts a different face on the situation, no? NEVER buy “a pig in a poke”…
